The Coolock scheme had nearly doubled its height following the changing of height restriction regulations by Minister for Housing, Eoghan Murphy, earlier this year.
The development originally involved four apartment blocks with varying heights up to five stories, but this maximum height was doubled to ten following the relaxation of planning criteria.
Bloom Capital Limited have received the green light from Dublin City Council to build a €26m apartment development in Coolock, Dublin 5.
The scheme will feature 88 units spanning over 5 floors located on the site of former Chanel College Lands on Coolock’s Main Street.
The apartment blocks will provide a mix of 22 no. 1 bed apartments, 50 no. 2 bed apartments and 16 no. 3 bed apartments.
Linked by Dublin Bus and cycle routes, the Coolock development is located 7km from Dublin’s central business district. The scheme is also designed to cater for the surge of workers that are employed by the nearby Cadbury Ireland chocolate factory and Tayto Crisps factory.
All associated site development works including services provision, vehicular/pedestrian accesses, car and bicycle parking, open space and bin stores will also be provided.
CGI consultants, 3D Design Bureau liaised with Ferreira Architecture to produce a series of architectural visualisation images for both planning purposes. 3D Design Bureau constructed verified view montages which were submitted as part of the planning application to Dublin City Council.
Coolock property surge
There will be a further 471 built-to-rent apartments constructed on the former Chivers jam factory site in Coolock.
An Bord Pleanála have recently granted planning permission to London-based developer, Platinum Land to build the €108m residential scheme.
