The Hatch Rooms – Cork’s luxury student accommodation

Hatch Student accommodation have recently completed their €8.6m change of use to student accommodation on Copley Street, Cork.

Set on the grounds of the former University College Cork school of architecture, contractors, John Paul Construction transformed the former education offices to a 265 student bed accommodation.

The student residence is complete with reception, co-working, chill out, study, canteen and interactive spaces.

Designed by Kingston Lafferty Design, the common areas have a futuristic mix of acrylic and Perspex, modular furniture and oversized globe lamps.

Potential student tenants will pay an entry level cost and pay extra for amenities including gym access, laundry, private cinema area, coffee kiosk, yoga studio space.

Hatch plan to transform the student accommodation to a hotel during the summer months.

CGI consultants, 3D Design Bureau, liaised with Kingston Lafferty Design to produce a series of interior CGIs. The initial 3D images were used to help inform design decisions and once finalised were used to market the student accommodation to potential dwellers during the construction phase.
