The LDA’s Major 543-unit development approved in Dublin City!

A huge milestone has been achieved by The Land Development Agency (LDA) with planning permission granted for the construction of a residential development on the former St. Teresa’s Gardens site.

The project, located off Donore Avenue in Dublin 8, is part of Dublin City Council’s comprehensive and sustained strategy to create a sustainable, well-integrated community in the area.

Experts in 3D planning solutions

Upon completion, the Donore project will encompass 154 social and 389 cost-rental homes, culminating in 543 residential units in total. The development will offer a diverse mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, dispersed across four apartment blocks, reaching up to 15 storeys high.
Moreover, the project also includes a retail/café unit, a mobility hub, a community/artist workspace, and a childcare facility, alongside other associated works, promising to greatly enrich the future residents’ quality of life.

Due to the project’s scale, substantial infrastructural upgrades will be taken. These include new vehicular routes, as well as pedestrian and cyclist paths, to ensure easy access for residents and visitors.

3D Design Bureau produced a comprehensive BRE Daylight and Sunlight Assessment which was submitted as part of the planning application. This assessment provided An Bord Pleanála with extensive information, enabling them to make well-informed decisions and ultimately assisting our client in obtaining permission for the development.

The Donore project will contribute to addressing Ireland’s pressing housing crisis, by providing much-needed social and cost rental residential homes.
