The Ardee 2040 Regeneration Project
The Ardee 2040 Regeneration Project is an ambitious long-term strategy for Ardee, Co. Louth, focused on improving the town’s streetscape and overall amenity. The programme aims to strengthen connectivity and wayfinding for residents and visitors while creating high-quality gateways, public spaces, recreational and sporting areas, and an enhanced public realm that supports regeneration, compact growth, and sustainable development in Ardee Town.
3D Design Bureau was appointed by Louth County Council to produce a series of visuals illustrating the proposed works across key areas. In total, 12 viewpoints were set and provided to our team to guide the production of the imagery.
Our role was to deliver verified view montages that accurately represent the proposed public realm upgrades. Once the viewpoints were confirmed, our photographer and surveyor attended site to capture the baseline photography. Each verified view then progressed through our robust methodology to ensure accuracy, consistency, and a realistic representation of the proposals within their existing context.
A key advantage in this project was that each viewpoint was accompanied by a clear description of the proposed changes, which supported our modelling and visualisation process and helped ensure the visuals aligned closely with the design intent for each location.
The final verified views were prepared for use within a Townscape Visual Impact Assessment (TVIA). A TVIA focuses on the visual character of built-up areas, including buildings, streets, and urban open spaces, and assesses how proposed interventions may influence the visual coherence and experience of the townscape.
The verified views and the accompanying TVIA play a key role in clearly communicating the visual outcomes of the Ardee 2040 proposals in a measurable and transparent way.
