3D Design Bureau recently wrapped up their Inaugural Charity Golf Classic in aid of BUMBLEAnce, the children’s national ambulance service.
10 teams of 4 players gathered at revered Carton House Golf Resort in Kildare to show off their golf skills and raise much needed funds for BUMBLEance. Through the generosity of participants and sponsors, over €2,500 was raised to help deliver smiles to sick children all around the country.
With the weather staying favourable for most of the day, the teams took on the famous Montgomerie course for a 4-ball scramble. The sweeping fairways, cavernous bunkers and ball-inviting rivers made it a testing course for even the most advanced golfers.
After 5 hours of vigorous golf, Team BUMBLeance proved the victors with a net score of 61.7 followed by Aramark Property who snatched second place with a net score of 63. The adjudicators had to go back to the score cards to decide the last podium place as both Team Ballymore and an amalgamated team made up of Bennett Construction and 3D Design Bureau scored 64.4. Team Bennett/3DDB edged the final podium place after a back 9 count-back.
The teams then proceeded to Carraige House to enjoy a well-earned meal and drink. Event Co-Ordinator, Conor Roche announced the winners followed by prize giving. Conor then presented the proceeds-raised cheque to the BUMBLEance team.
Conor stated, “It was a fantastic day of golf and huge thanks to all the sponsors, participants and volunteers. Their time and generosity will go towards an amazing cause.” he added, “We would be delighted to hold another event to help raise funds for BUMBLEance.”

BUMBLEance is the official Children’s National Ambulance Service of Ireland. They provide safe and comfortable transportation for Ireland’s youngest patients as they travel between their homes and hospitals, hospices, treatment centres, and respite centres nationwide.
The BUMBLEance service is the first of its kind in the world. It has all the amenities of a regular ambulance but it includes the all-important extras to make a sick child’s journey as safe, comfortable and entertaining as possible. Our aim is to distract, comfort and entertain Ireland’s youngest and most critically ill patients as they travel to and from hospitals and paediatric treatment centres nationwide.
Main contractors, Townmore Construction are expected to complete works on Carrs Lane by April 2021.
