Construction is now underway on the estimated €135m Sea Gardens Housing Development in Bray. The scheme is located on land formerly used for Bray Golf Club. The plans, which were submitted in 2021 by Shankill Property Investments Limited, will lead to the construction of both residential and non-residential units off Ravenswell Road and Dublin Road in Bray, Co. Wicklow.

The Sea Gardens development that has been granted will include 234 housing units, spread between terraced houses, duplexes and apartments. The 74 houses will comprise a mix of two- and three-bedroom homes at two-storeys tall and four-bedroom houses at 3 storeys tall. The scheme will also feature 106 apartments within two blocks and 52 duplex units that will each have their own door and their own private balcony or garden space.
A provision of high-quality public and communal open space is included in the approved scheme as well as playgrounds and a multi-use games area. Car and bicycle parking will be made available to both residents and those using the facilities included in the development. In addition, 3 commercial units – a café, convenience store and a childcare facility – will further benefit future residents and the local area.
“We were delighted to have collaborated with our partner 3D Design Bureau. Their excellent technical outputs of verified view montages and a comprehensive Daylight and Sunlight assessment played a big part during the planning stage of this development. Their excellent understanding of the scope of work, and ability to deliver this project under such tight timeframes was invaluable,”
– added Rachel Hoy, Senior Project Manager at Ballymore.
