Belgard Square East LRD

Belgard Square East LRD

This approved large-scale residential development in Tallaght, southwestern Dublin, will deliver 199 apartments across two blocks ranging from one to seven storeys. The scheme includes a mix of studios and one, two, and three bedroom apartments, along with senior living units and a range of resident amenity spaces.

Having worked with Salamisso previously, we were appointed early in the design stages to support the planning application. Our scope included a suite of planning visuals alongside a full daylight and sunlight assessment. As with many of the projects featured on our website, both streams of work began with the same foundation: a detailed analytical 3D model.

Working from the issued drawing information, our team modelled the full site to create an accurate digital representation of the proposed development. This model was then used across both the technical analysis and the production of visuals.

For the imagery, we produced verified view montages and aerial montages. While the modelling team developed the 3D model, our photographer, drone pilot, and surveyor visited the site to capture the baseline photography required for these deliverables.

All verified views were produced in line with our established methodology. For the aerial montages, which follow a similar workflow, our team carried out camera matching in 3ds Max using surveyed site data including camera coordinates, angle of view, and direction of view. This ensures the 3D model is positioned accurately within the real-world context.

A key feature of the architectural CGIs for this project is that most viewpoints were created from a slightly elevated perspective rather than at eye level. This allowed for a clearer reading of the overall layout and massing, while also providing visibility of public amenity areas and surrounding infrastructure such as roads and site access.

In addition, we carried out a daylight & sunlight assessment, and shadow study for the proposed development. The findings concluded that the scheme performs favourably overall from a daylight and sunlight perspective. While some adverse impacts were recorded, the most affected windows and rooms do not serve residential spaces, and these impacts were considered acceptable when balanced with the wider objectives for the area.
