Blackrock Village Centre, formerly known as Blackrock Shopping Centre, is undergoing a €10 million refurbishment programme by developers Friends First. The completion of the scheme is scheduled for May 2020.
The changes will bring 1,501 sq.m. of new retail space to the Dublin market.
Blackrock Village Centre will extend to 6,176.6 sq m upon completion and is anchored by a 2,712 sq m SuperValu.
The renovation of the centre includes a complete upgrade of the common areas, realignment of the malls and circulation and the installation of a mostly glazed covering – which will retain natural ventilation.
There will also be a new façade and entrance off Frascati Road.
While its car parking facilities will also be upgraded, with the introduction of a new exit onto Rock Hill.
Along as a revamp of retail outlets, the development will feature offices that will extend across a total area of 16,833sq ft (1,564sq m). The offices known as ‘Trident House’ is a four-storey over basement block with 21 car-parking spaces which adjoins Blackrock Village centre.
