Construction Kicks Off for Glenveagh’s 237-Unit Development in Leixlip

Note: 3D Design Bureau is NOT an agent for the sale or letting of any properties within this development.

Construction has commenced on the first set of units of the Leixlip Demesne Large-Scale Residential Development in Co. Kildare. The project has been approved by Kildare County Council and upheld by An Bord Pleanála following an appeal in 2023.

Let us help you secure planning!

3D Design Bureau worked closely with Glenveagh Homes and the entire design team to create a full suite of planning solutions, which played a critical role in obtaining planning permission for this project.

Our various teams produced detailed computer-generated images, precise verified view montages, and a comprehensive daylight and sunlight assessment report, which helped our client ensure a positive outcome, not only from the local authority, but also from An Bord Pleanála.

Once completed, the development will have 237 residential units, including 167 houses and 70 duplex apartments. These much-needed family homes will be available in two to four-bedroom configurations, while the duplexes will offer one to three-bedroom options, accommodating a wide range of residents.

In addition to residential spaces, the development will include a two-storey creche and plenty of public open spaces to enhance the community aspect of the project. Future residents will have access to ample car parking spaces, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and extensive bicycle parking spaces.

Situated on a 14.3-hectare site in Leixlip, the development benefits from an advantageous location, with easy access to Celbridge Road and the M4 motorway.

Leixlip Historical Background

Future residents will have the privilege of living in a historically rich area situated in Co. Kildare. As per the Architectural Heritage Impact Assessment, which was submitted with the planning application, it is believed that the town of Leixlip has its roots in the Viking era, due to its Scandinavian name ‘Lex-hlaup’.

Leixlip Castle, which is located close to this scheme, is one of the first Norman castles in the country and has been continuously inhabited for centuries, making it one of the oldest buildings in Ireland.

The assessment has concluded that the underway development will not have any significant negative impact on the architectural heritage of Leixlip and its surrounding areas.
