Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council has approved amendments to the Glenageary Gate mixed-use development, originally granted permission by An Coimisiún Pleanála. Located at the junction of Sallynoggin Road and Glenageary Avenue, the project by Red Rock Developments will deliver a new neighbourhood centre that combines residential, retail, and community uses within a single integrated scheme.
The approved amendments include the addition of four new one-bedroom apartments at the fourth-floor level in Block A, bringing the total number of homes to 99, along with a minor height adjustment to the southern elevation, revised landscaping proposals, and an increase in long-stay resident bicycle parking to 192 spaces across both blocks.
The approved plans feature two interconnected blocks ranging from four to five storeys, accommodating residential apartments above a mix of ground-floor uses, including six smaller retail units, two restaurant/café spaces, and a childcare facility with an associated play area.
3D Design Bureau played an important role in this project. As valued partners of the design team, we delivered a comprehensive suite of planning solutions, essential in securing approval for our client. These included aerial and external computer-generated images, presentation photomontages, verified view montages, and a comprehensive daylight and sunlight assessment report. Together, these materials helped communicate how the development integrates within its surrounding environment, supporting the local authority’s decision-making process.
The scheme also provides 57 basement car parking spaces and 192 bicycle spaces at ground level. Ground-floor areas will accommodate retail and storage space, replacing previously proposed residential amenities.

Aerial Montages: What They Are, How They’re Made, and Why They Matter
Aerial montages, also known as aerial CGIs, showcase a proposed property development from a bird’s-eye perspective. They combine carefully positioned aerial photography with a 3D representation of the development, clearly illustrating the site’s layout, location, and how the scheme integrates with its surrounding environment. This benefits both property planning and marketing strategies.
