Developers, Mrs Claus Ltd. have received planning permission from North Pole County Council to construct a new €160m magical toy workshop on the site at Lapland, North Magnetic Pole.
The developer’s decision to construct a larger workshop came as a record number of children were added to the manufacturer’s “Nice List” this year.
The scheme will comprise of ten blocks ranging from five to ten storeys and will be able to accommodate a total of 10,000 Elf employees.
The plans also include luxury housing, a reindeer’s retreat, a spa and gym, shopping facilities and a post office to manage the large inflow of letters to Santa.
Head of operations and logistics, Santa Claus commented:
“This is fantastic news for us to get this project over the line. The old workshop was great and will be sadly missed but we have to accommodate more elves and their families. With more and more children being extra nice to their friends and family this year we just have to produce more toys.” He added, “Ho Ho Ho. The addition of a gym facility was Mrs. Claus’ idea. She reckons that I become a bit portly from all the mince pies and cookies over the Christmas.” Mr. Claus paused and then sighed, “She’s probably right.”
Construction on the site is set to begin in January 2020 and will be operational by the end of the year.
