Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council has granted planning permission for a Large-Scale Residential Development (LRD) in Kilternan, Dublin 18. The approved scheme, named Kilternan Village, spans two sites totalling approximately 14.2 hectares, separated by the future Glenamuck Link Distributor Road (GLDR).
Works will involve the demolition of approximately 740 sq m of existing structures and the construction of a mixed-use development comprising 467 residential units and a neighbourhood centre. The residential mix includes 188 houses, 190 duplex units, and 89 apartments, ranging from one to four bedrooms and set across two to four storeys.
In addition to residential units, the approved plans include a neighbourhood centre featuring commercial and retail units, a restaurant, a café, a community facility, and a creche. The scheme also provides for 854 car parking spaces, including EV charging, accessible, and car share spaces, along with ample bicycle and motorcycle parking, and a pedestrian and cycle link connecting Enniskerry Road to the GLDR via the Dingle Way.
The public realm will also be upgraded, including new access roads, footpaths, and cycleways, as well as junction upgrades and a pedestrian crossing at the interface of Dingle Way and Enniskerry Road. The gross floor area of the development will total approximately 60,504 sq m.
