100-bedroom hotel approved near Iveagh Gardens, in Dublin March, 2026

An Coimisiún Pleanála issued a decision to grant planning permission for a new 100-bedroom hotel on Pleasants Street, Dublin. The scheme will replace the existing building on the site and deliver a new city centre hospitality development in a prime city centre location near Iveagh Gardens, placing it close to many of Dublin’s main business and visitor areas.

Following an appeal, An Coimisiún Pleanála has granted planning permission, with amendments, for a large-scale residential development at the existing Balally Shopping Centre, Blackthorn Drive, Sandyford, Dublin 16. The approved scheme will deliver 71 apartments, ranging from studio to three-bedroom homes.

Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council is progressing plans to bring No. 9 George’s Place and the former Wash House on Kelly’s Avenue back into use through a sustainable programme of renovation and adaptive reuse.

The two vacant protected structures, located at the corner of George’s Place and Kelly’s Avenue in Dún Laoghaire, will be transformed into a Centre for Creative Lifelong Learning, alongside public realm improvements to the courtyard and surrounding streetscape.

Planning permission granted for 180-bed Cork city centre hotel January, 2026

Cork City Council has granted planning permission with conditions for a new hotel development at Lower Oliver Plunkett Street and Connell Street, in Cork City.

The approved hotel will range from five to ten storeys above ground level, delivering 180 bed spaces in total. The scheme also includes a gym, reception area, kitchen, and breakfast and dining space, alongside the supporting building services required for hotel operations.
