Steeplefield Limited have proposed plans for the construction of a large mixed-use development known as ‘Greenvale’ located at the former Chadwicks Builders Merchant Development. The existing 10 buildings on site will be demolished and replaced by 4 blocks that will reach up to 12-storeys in height.
The €136m scheme will provide a total of 633 build-to-rent residential units in the form of one, two and three-bedroom apartments, as well as a dedicated commercial space that will provide room for 10 commercial units spread throughout the proposed blocks.
Residents will have access to a wide range of indoor communal amenities including a co-working space, a gym, a residential lounge, and a games room. As for the outdoor communal space, some of the amenities outlined in plans involve the creation of play areas, seating areas, scented gardens, and a roof garden, in addition to the construction of a childcare facility with an associated outdoor playground.
A total of 424 car parking spaces will be available including mobility and car club spaces. These will either be at ground floor level or at the 2- storey car parks located within two of the apartment blocks.
Along with the various indoor and outdoor amenities proposed by the developers, there are plenty more nearby the Former Chadwicks Site. The area is known for its ties to famous musicians and singers who used to live on these streets which means there are plenty of musical groups and community halls for residents to get involved in. There are several sports clubs nearby and plenty of Bars & Restaurants next to the Walkinstown roundabout.
CGI consultants, 3D Design Bureau, were involved early in the design stage to produce 3D Planning Solutions. 3D Design Bureau worked closely alongside the development team to produce verified view montages, architectural CGIs, aerial CGIs and a BRE Daylight and Sunlight Assessment which included impact assessment and scheme performance.
