In six years, Iconic has made quite a name for itself as Ireland’s leading provider of flexible workspace solutions, operating 14 locations in Dublin with 3,500 spaces accommodating clients who take anything between one and 500 desks.
Developers, Magell Ltd. are set to launch their 8-storey co-working development within Belfast’s Eagle Star House on Upper Queen Street.
Urban HQ will have the capacity for 500 desks, making it one of the largest flexible work-spaces in the country.
The refurbishment will provide ‘design-led’ workshops spanning over 8 floors.
Urban HQ will also feature meeting rooms, lounges, a large roof terrace and spaces for events and networking.
The finished scheme is expected feel more akin to a hotel than an office. The scheme will be Northern Ireland’s first WiredScore Platinum certified flexible workspace.
Urban HQ managing director Jamie McCoubrey commented “Flexible workspace is accounting for an increasing level of total market demand and Urban HQ is a unique proposition that will take Belfast’s offering to the next level with a product that will rival workspace available in Dublin and even London.
“Our name, Urban HQ, reflects the fact that this is a place within the city centre where work will happen. We understand the way people work has changed significantly and every decision at Urban HQ has been fully considered and made to ensure we support the innovation and diversity of the local workforce with real flexibility and transparency.”
Main contractor Graham Interior Fit-Out, is undertaking the construction works involved in the refurbishment of the existing Eagle Star House office building providing a new curtain walling facade system and replacing all windows.
CGI consultants, 3D Design Bureau liaised with Kingston Lafferty Design to produce a series of 3D marketing solutions of the Urban HQ scheme. 3D Design Bureau produced interior CGIs, a 3D animation walk-through and an off-plans 360 virtual tour which are being used to showcase the development while it is in the construction phase.
