8th Lock

Located along the Royal Canal in Dublin 11, 8th Lock is a large-scale residential development comprising 435 units across five blocks, ranging in height from 7 to 13 storeys. Developed by Ballymore and designed by Reddy Architecture & Urbanism, the scheme includes 218 one-bedroom and 217 two-bedroom apartments, along with 4,200 sq. m (45,208 sq. ft.) of commercial and amenity space.

Our client appointed us to deliver a comprehensive suite of property marketing solutions, ensuring an accurate representation of Reddy’s design. This included architectural CGIs, interior CGIs, an interactive off-plan 360° virtual tour, and detailed 3D plans, providing a clear depiction of the interior design layout and spatial arrangement of the development.

The 3D plans provided an overview of specific areas and rooms within the scheme, capturing not only the layout but also interior finishes, including flooring, fixtures, paint colours, wall textures, and furniture. Unlike traditional 2D plans, these visuals helped highlight key amenity spaces, such as the lobby, gym, and work-life areas, among other spaces.

The interior CGIs offered a detailed view of the premium finishes and integrated appliances within the apartments, while also showcasing the shared amenities within the development. These were complemented by architectural CGIs and aerial photomontages, illustrating how the scheme blends into its surroundings, including the nearby canal, neighbouring properties, public plazas, and key access points.

The off-plan virtual tour presented an immersive way to explore the exterior spaces and key amenity areas of the development. To ensure accuracy, we conducted on-site photography to capture background elements, allowing us to integrate real-world surroundings into the tour.

Given the scale of the project, we implemented a Wayfinder in the concierge area, enabling users to navigate the development effortlessly. Additionally, we captured 360° videos from key viewpoints selected by our client, which were repurposed for marketing videos and social media.
