Holiday Inn Manchester Airport

Holiday Inn Manchester Airport

Designed by ICA Architects, the Holiday Inn Manchester Airport is a 280-room hotel arranged across six floors. The scheme forms part of Manchester Airport’s wider masterplan, which includes two hotels developed in close proximity to one another (Holiday Inn and Ibis Budget), both serving Terminal Two.

During the design stages, ICA appointed us to help visualise the scheme well in advance of construction. Having previously collaborated on the Moxy Manchester City hotel, the team returned to us to bring this new development to life through a suite of planning and presentation visuals.

We were provided with Autodesk Revit models of the hotel, which our team then developed further by applying materials, textures, and finish details. Having the Revit model in place also proved helpful in selecting the most effective viewpoints ahead of the site visit.

From there, our visualisation and post-production teams produced a set of verified view montages and presentation photomontages. For the verified views, the focus was on accuracy, embedding the model into the surveyed photography and following our established methodology to create the most reliable representation of the proposed hotel.

Using the same model and photography, we also produced presentation photomontages. These allowed for a greater degree of artistic licence, with adjustments to lighting, sky tones, and atmosphere to create more visually engaging images. As a result, the visuals were suitable not only for planning purposes but also for stakeholder presentations and wider marketing use.

The Holiday Inn Manchester Airport is now complete and fully operational.
