Kilbride, Arklow
This large-scale residential development is part of a wider masterplan, located just north of Arklow town. The proposed project outlines the delivery of 1,500 homes, alongside a school, two crèches, three retail units, and pedestrian, cycle, and road links that connect the new neighbourhood to Arklow town.
3D Design Bureau were involved in this project from its very beginning, producing a series of verified view montages to support the planning application. The goal was to show the proposed pedestrian and cycle paths required to improve access to the future scheme, helping the local authority assess the visual impact of these routes on the surrounding environment, including changes to vegetation and local infrastructure.
A few years later, in 2025, we were brought back to the project. Our new scope of work included the production of additional verified view montages, architectural CGIs, and a full daylight and sunlight assessment, including a shadow study. The results were positive, concluding that the scheme performs favourably in terms of daylight and sunlight access for future residents.
The new verified view montages also included the development in its cumulative state, incorporating other granted, but not yet built, schemes in the area. This provided the local authority with a more comprehensive understanding of how the site will look.
For the architectural CGIs, our team focused on highlighting the proposed amenities that will be available to future residents. These include public open spaces, playgrounds, and a bridge crossing the adjacent marshland.
Working from architectural drawings and design references, we also visualised a selection of house types within the scheme. Close collaboration with our client and the wider design team allowed us to plan key viewpoints in advance, ensuring the visuals captured the most important aspects of the development.
