The Gasworks
Developed by Land Development Agency (LDA), this development is set to deliver 285 high-quality affordable homes to the area, contributing substantially to the region’s housing supply.
The proposed scheme comprises a mix of 142 one-bedroom, 127 two-bedroom, and 16 three-bedroom apartments. Strategically located just a 15-minute walk from Limerick city centre, the site supports the concept of sustainable urban living. Future residents will benefit from strong transport links, including bus services connecting directly to local schools, the University of Limerick, University Hospital Limerick, and the Crescent Shopping Centre.
3D Design Bureau was first appointed to the project in December 2023. Our team was tasked with producing a Daylight and Sunlight Assessment to ensure the design met the necessary BRE guidelines for natural light, alongside a set of Verified View Montages to accurately illustrate the scheme within its existing context.
As the project evolved, the client returned to us to expand the scope of visual deliverables, ensuring a robust presentation for the planning application. This second phase involved the production of additional Verified View Montages, bringing the total of views to 14, along with a couple of Architectural CGIs and a Presentation Photomontage.
These high-fidelity visuals play a crucial role in the planning process, allowing stakeholders and planning authorities to fully understand the architectural intent and the development’s visual impact on the surrounding Dock Road streetscape.
Now granted, construction on the site could begin as early as 2027.
