Liscove Limited have submitted plans to build a Strategic Housing Development on the Lands of Wayside in Kilternan, Dublin. To make way for the €90.5m development, the initial demolition of a derelict dwelling ‘Rockville’ and its outbuildings will be required.
The overall scheme will range from 2 to 5 storeys in height and will bring a total of 383 residential units to the area. These homes will be constructed as houses, duplexes, and apartments. Each unit will have its own balcony, terrace, or garden.
In addition to the residential units, plans also outline the construction of a neighbourhood centre which will provide space for several public facilities including a creche, a medical unit, a retail unit, and a community centre.
The overall site covers 10.8 hectares and could make a big impact on the village. The varied residential units proposed will provide accommodation that suits individuals, couples, and families while the neighbourhood centre will offer facilities that will elevate the community’s quality of life.
The location could not be more perfect for those searching for a quiet life or who prefer to be immersed in the great outdoors. Residents will be a short distance away from both the Wicklow mountains and the Dublin coastline. The village itself contains a selection of local amenities and the green Luas line connects Kilternan to the city centre.
CGI consultants, 3D Design Bureau, were involved early in the design stage to produce 3D Planning solutions. 3D Design Bureau worked closely with the development team to produce architectural CGIs, verified view montages, and a BRE Daylight and Sunlight Analysis that were used as part of the planning application submitted to Dun-Laoghaire Rathdown County Council.
