Meath County Council granted Glenveagh final permission for 356 homes at Bennetstown in Dunboyne North, Co. Meath, after a third-party appeal was withdrawn. The scheme forms another phase of Glenveagh’s wider development in the area and includes a crèche, public open space and new road, pedestrian and cycle connections.
3D Design Bureau collaborated closely with the design team, producing architectural CGIs, verified view montages and a daylight and sunlight assessment. Beyond supporting the planning process, these helped inform design decisions before submission, enabling the team to refine and improve the project while providing a clear visual of how the proposed buildings would sit within the surrounding area and helping the local authority understand the scheme in context.
The development will comprise 252 houses and 104 maisonettes, apartments and duplexes, offering a mix of one- to four-bedroom homes. The houses will range from two to three storeys, with two-storey maisonettes and apartment and duplex accommodation across four blocks rising to four storeys.
The works will involve the demolition of two agricultural sheds and associated structures, along with the removal of the existing GAA pitch and its associated structures.
A two-storey crèche will serve the development, with planning conditions requiring it to be completed and ready for occupation before residents move into any of the homes. The public open space will also incorporate an accessible sensory garden, with detailed proposals to be agreed with the Council.
The scheme includes upgrades to the R157, two signalised access junctions and a link road incorporating a bridge over the River Tolka to connect with the Old Navan Road. Footpaths, cycle lanes and two pedestrian crossings are also planned along the existing M3 Parkway access road.
The Council’s conditions retain the proposed 356-home total, with further details relating to landscaping, drainage and transport infrastructure to be agreed before construction begins.

How Our Clients Use 3D Architectural Visualisation to Market Property
Architectural visualisation can support a property development long before construction begins. At 3D Design Bureau, we have used it to help design teams test options, identify measures that can improve a scheme and address issues that might otherwise create challenges at planning stage.
