Crown Square – Galway’s €200m Development

Construction has recommenced on the first phase of Crown Square, a €200 million mixed-use development in Galway. Crown Square will feature 5.2 hectares (13 acres) of office, hotel, and a proposed 345-unit housing scheme on the outskirts of the city in Mervue.

Phase 1 of scheme will comprise of five office blocks ranging from three to six storeys and a 175-room hotel.

When completed the five office blocks will be able to accommodate 3,100 workers between them, while the hotel and other facilities would bring total employment capacity on site to an estimated 3,500 people.

The first two offices of the Crown Square office blocks will be completed in the last quarter of 2021 with the remainder of the scheme due for completion in 2022. Willie Dowling of CBRE, who is the letting agent, says it has already signed heads of agreement for 1,394 sq m in one block and is in talks for the letting of an entire 5,574 sq m second block to one occupier.
