The Botanic Business Centre site in Glasnevin, Dublin 9 is the site of an exciting new development. The Wayfinding Centre is a mobility transport training facility designed to help people with disabilities gain confidence in navigating multiple modes of public transport, ultimately improving their quality of life and independence. Construction has already commenced on this innovative new training facility, which is a partnership between the NCBI and Transport Infrastructure for Ireland.

Let us help you secure planning

The Wayfinding Centre is set to become the interface between the transport, disability, government, academia, and local communities in Dublin City. The curriculum of the training facility includes access to different types of rail transport networks, ticketing and air transport. The facility offers a safe, inclusive, and controlled indoor space where people with disabilities can learn about Ireland’s public transport system.

The project is funded by the National Transport Authority as the estimated value is below EU public procurement thresholds. NCBI operates as a voluntary open procurement procedure using the Capital Works Management Framework.

Oak Project Management is undertaking modifications to the existing entrance forecourt and front façade to create a new access ramp and steps. Additionally, a new internal entrance to the former printworks unit will be provided. The printworks hall will be modified to make way for the mobility transport training area, welfare and sanitary accommodation, and health and safety escape routes for future users.

3D Design Bureau’s CGI Consultants worked closely with the design team to provide Computer Generated Images (CGIs) showcasing the project’s vision and intended results.
