Construction of the second phase of the new Large-scale Residential Development (LRD) on Richmond Road, Dublin’s northeast, has begun. Approved by An Bord Pleanála in 2023, the scheme primarily entails demolishing existing low-rise buildings, such as warehouses and two residential properties, to pave the way for the development of three mixed-use blocks, standing 4, 8, and 7 storeys tall.
This phase of the Richmond Road LRD will feature the construction of 107 built-to-rent apartments, spread into 55 one-bedroom and 52 two-bedroom units. The development promises to positively impact the area, providing much-needed houses, and creating economic opportunities, with the addition of a cafe and retail units on the ground floor.

Moreover, the underway development will feature important amenities areas for future residents like open communal spaces, roof gardens, car, motorcycle and bicycle parking spaces, electric scooter storage and electric vehicle charging stations.
3D Design Bureau worked closely with Birkey Limited, Hollybrook Homes and the design team to deliver high-quality verified view montages (VVMs), aerial views, and computer-generated images (CGIs) to support the planning process and marketing strategies of this scheme.

Located near River Tonka, the Richmond Road LRD also promises to enhance the surrounding area by developing a flood wall to the nearby river, widening the footpaths, and adding a new cycle lane in Richmond Road. A decision is still pending for Phase 1 of this development.
