Planning permission is being sought for one of Ireland’s largest residential developments to date. 4 mix-use blocks that will range in height from 4 to 11 storeys.
Planning permission is being sought a 7-storey, Built-To-Rent (BTR) apartment development in Tallaght.
A planning application was recently lodged to An Bord Pleanála for the construction of a 170-unit residential development located at the Glen Abbey Complex in Cookstown Industrial Estate.
If approved, the project will involve the demolition of the existing 4,630sq. m (49,837 sq. ft) of industrial and commercial buildings on site. These will make way for 2 apartment blocks that will range from 4 to 7 storeys in height.
The apartments will comprise 9 studios, 94 one-bed units, 60 two-bed units, and 7 three-bed units. Each of the apartments will have access to private and communal open space in the form of balconies, terraces, amenity space and external communal areas. The scheme will also include a crèche facility with an outdoor play area.
The apartment blocks will include residential amenities such as a gym, lounge, cinema/tv room, and events rooms. Large portions of the site will be dedicated to outdoor open space. The plans outline a number of children’s play areas, public greens and landscaping, and a communal roof garden at fourth floor level.
The development will feature a total of 73 car parking spaces and 354 bicycle spaces.
Areas near the Glen Abbey Complex site have already been earmarked for sizeable residential developments, including plans submitted for a 1,104 built-to-rent apartment development across 4 sites located at Cookstown Castle. Plans have been approved for the construction of 502 apartments on the former Gallaher cigarette factory site on Airton Road.
Property developer Marlet received permission for a substantial residential development nearby on the Belgard Road, to consist of 438 apartments, a 403 bed-space student accommodation scheme and a new urban quarter.
CGI consultants, 3D Design Bureau, liaised with the development team to provide both 3D planning and 3D marketing solutions. 3D Design Bureau produced a total of 12 verified view montages and 4 architectural CGIs which were submitted as part of the planning application to An Bord Pleanála. The 3D visualisations are now being used for marketing purposes.
