Dublin City Council has granted permission for an amendment to the Omni Plaza development beside Omni Park Shopping Centre in Santry, Dublin 9. The decision brings the permitted scheme on the approximately 2.5-hectare site to 457 apartments.
3D Design Bureau has supported Omni Plaza since its original planning application, producing a Daylight and Sunlight Assessment, verified view montages, presentation photomontages and architectural CGIs. These materials assessed daylight and sunlight performance and helped illustrate the development’s proposed appearance and relationship with its surroundings throughout its planning process.
An Coimisiún Pleanála granted permission for the development in 2025, subject to a condition that omitted 19 apartments to provide additional community and cultural space. The latest amendment restores those apartments within the permitted building envelope. The Council issued its final grant last September.
Omni Plaza will replace former industrial and warehouse buildings north-west of the shopping centre. The apartments are planned across four blocks ranging from four to 12 storeys. The wider scheme includes a crèche, retail space, residential amenities, public plazas and improved pedestrian and cycle connections through Omni Park.
The amendment changes the use of previously permitted community and cultural floorspace in Blocks C and D. A 266.3 sq m community and cultural space remains in Block D, while the revised plans also provide 40 additional visitor bicycle spaces.
